01Acceptance of terms

These terms apply to the Jo Tam website, the StoryMe app (the “App”) and any related services we provide. By using them, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

To create a StoryMe account you must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, and be a parent or legal guardian using the App on behalf of a child.

02Description of StoryMe

StoryMe provides:

• personalized bedtime stories based on details you enter, such as a child's name, age and preferences;
• weekly new episodes;
• access to illustrations and story content;
• optional subscription based premium features.

We may improve, change or discontinue features over time. We will give reasonable notice of major changes.

03Your account

When you create an account, you agree to:

• provide accurate and up to date information;
• keep your login details secure and not share them;
• take responsibility for activity under your account.

You can delete your account at any time. See Account Deletion.

04Subscriptions and billing

Plans

StoryMe may offer subscription plans that unlock premium features or additional content.

Payment

Payments are processed by the App Store, Google Play or another payment provider. By subscribing, you authorize them to charge the applicable fees shown at the time of purchase.

Auto renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings.

Refunds

Refunds are handled under the policies of the store or payment platform you used, except where the law gives you additional rights.

05Our content

Story content, illustrations, text, graphics, software and other materials in our products and on this website are owned by Jo Tam or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

You may not:

• copy, reproduce, resell or distribute our content except as these terms allow;
• use our products for commercial purposes without our written permission;
• reverse engineer, modify or attempt to access the source code of our products.

Personalized stories are provided for your personal, non commercial use. You are welcome to read, save and share them with family and friends.

06Your inputs and generated stories

When you enter details such as a child's name, age or preferences, you:

• allow us to use them only to create and deliver your personalized stories;
• confirm you have the right to provide that information.

We do not claim ownership of the details you provide. Stories are created with automated tools, so while we design them to be gentle and age appropriate, a parent should always be present to review content with their child.

07Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use our services in any unlawful, harmful or abusive way;
• try to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts;
• enter or upload content that is offensive, harmful or infringes the rights of others;
• interfere with the normal operation of the App or website.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, or where needed for security or legal reasons.

08Development services

When we design or build a product for you, the scope, timeline, fees, ownership of deliverables and support terms are set out in a separate written agreement or proposal. If that agreement conflicts with these terms, the agreement applies.

09Availability

We aim to keep our services running smoothly, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error free operation. We may pause services temporarily for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control.

10Disclaimer

Our services are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about the accuracy of generated stories, the availability of our services or their fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.

11Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jo Tam is not liable for:

• indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages;
• loss of data, revenue or profit;
• issues caused by third party services, such as app stores or payment processors.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

12Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes will be handled by the competent courts of Lebanon, unless the law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring a claim locally.

13Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If changes are significant, we will notify you in the App, by email or on this website. Continuing to use our services after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
